Travel Hack Fail #1

This isn’t too bad actually. I just need to do more extensive research into international travel hacking. And this trip was more last minute.

I spent $1,610 on a flight to Nigeria (your xoxo gossip girl blogger reveals another identity clue). Lodging and food is free since I’ll be staying with family. My cousin is getting married and I have to be there for the good of everyone else. It is everyone’s honor that I will be attending. I am a guest of honor. Hahaha JK but I am though. So I am sacrificing some cash to grace my family with my presence.

Actually to make the fail more failier, I just had to change the dates for the trip because it clashes with my MBA conference in July. And that cost a whopping $549. So total fail is $2159…you can’t see me but I’m crying in broke right now.

So Nigeria trip (July 2023) is technically a fail since it is not $free.99. I am glad I’m noting all these trips because I would love to do a round up at the end of the year to calculate my total travel costs and savings. Not everything is a win my friends but we moveeee!

If anyone has tips on traveling to Nigeria for free, dm me @genzfirebaby on Instagram.
