Gen Z Guide to FI

This happened a month ago but I recently thought about how exciting it was. What were the odds of getting a free extra night in Vegas on someone else’s dime?

I went for an inspirational work-related conference in Las Vegas. It was already free since it was company sponsored. I ate Virgil’s BBQ every day and partied with high level executives for free every night. 

Then, on the last day, SouthWest decided to fuck up and cancel everyone’s flights. For this reason, I now do not trust SouthWest airline and will avoid unless my flight is free.

Some more determined employees decided to drive all the way from Las Vegas to middle of nowhere, CA. I respect that. They were working on the weekend for some reason. But, that was not my story. 

I paid for an extra night with my company card because that was also an option my company gave. I lived it up. Some other coworkers were staying the night. We went to some big club in Las Vegas & I got exactly 1 $25 drink that was mostly water. I stayed happily sober. But I was drunk on the fact that the night was mostly free.

I looked cute as fuck and it was a good bonding experience for me and my coworkers. Ultimately, a big win in my book because the night and flight was company sponsored baby. Thank you SouthWest.
