Gen Z Guide to FI

On this episode of GZFB scams, I got $50 for getting ice cream for my coworkers. And free ice cream, of course. It’s been hot out here in Butt Fuck, CA. So I came up with the ‘nice’ idea of getting ice cream for my team every week (or whenever it’s over 100 degrees).

But… as always, I don’t do things just to be a nice person. Hahaha. In what world? I pull out my Ibotta app and pull out all the deals for ice cream. In the last 2 weeks, I went twice and earned $32 cash back. My job will also reimburse my gas – you best believe – so that’s where the other $18 comes from.

Next week, I will optimize my process. I just realized I can get cash back per item. Example: $2 on Kit Kat ice cream for up to 5 times on a receipt. So like…. $10 back per receipt. I definitely didn’t take advantage of the per-item cash back. Next time, I’ll get up to the max cash back for each ice cream. If I go that route, I think I can get close to $50 on one trip (not including gas).

My shopping trip: I get a break to listen to my audiobooks. I’ve been listening to Just As I Am by Cicely Tyson, by the way. I also get free ice cream and free money, baby.
