But I saved $73 in Ubers so like… worth it.
I know I said 1 post a week, but y’all should know I love this blog too much. I’m trying to manage expectations 🙂
I went to SF last week to party with my homies. Alas, the night was all types of rocky. When I returned to my friend’s Airbnb, I passed out on my portable mattress (always stay ready). But around 4 a.m., one of her friends started snoring heavily.
I don’t know if I have discussed my hatred for snoring on this blog. I couldn’t deal. Snoring interrupts the theme music in my dreams. My dreams are usually either sexy, happy, or dramatic, with theme music that matches. The sound of snores interrupts everything, and I get so pissed off.
Anyway, I grabbed my shit and called an Uber to my friend’s apartment in Livermore. The Uber was $73. The Uber driver was an older Chinese guy. Halfway through the ride, he started nodding off. I couldn’t tell what was going on because I was still drunk, honestly. But once the car made a full stop on the freeway, I sobered up real quick. Luckily, the road was pretty empty since it was 4 a.m.
I started trying to talk to him about his life. This is very awk for me. I’m not good at small talk. He couldn’t speak English, but I kept trying anyway so he would make it for the last 25 mins. We made it alive in the end. I gave him 1 star and reported the safety issue. Uber refunded me the whole trip.
I’ve been slightly stressed about money because I overspent $250 in August. But it was mostly on food and gas because I’ve visited the Bay Area multiple times. Still, I always feel icky when my plans fall apart.
Anyway, the refund was a welcome surprise because I needed my $73 back.
