Yo yo yo homies! I’m in Japan baby. Konnichiwa.
Day 1
I got to the airport around 3pm. We were all tired but excited nonetheless. We all got different accommodations. For context, we are 5 people on the trip – two couples & sexy, single GZFB. We all have different plans for things we wanna see in Japan and places we wanna go.
Some things were kind of tricky:
Getting IC cards & bullet train passes: I could only get a SUICA IC card (transit card) on my Apple Wallet using my AMEX card. The visa cards didn’t work for some reason. I’m not sure why. My friends had similar issues. One could use her Apple credit card, but the rest had Visa cards, which didn’t work. In the end, you can also get a train pass at the airport – and you can fill it up to $150.

My friends are going to Kyoto, Mt. Fuji & Osaka so they need the bullet train passes. One got it at the airport, but the rest could not. Hmm… weird.
E-SIMS: Activate your e-sim before you leave the US. I used Airalo in Canada but I’m using Ubigi now in Japan. It is so nice to have data and be able to use google maps.
I am staying in Tokyo for 7 full days. I might take a day trip somewhere but that is TBD. I’m a vacationer for sure. Not sure if I’ve mentioned before, I am the type of person who wants to relax. If I can unpack my suitcase, that is perfect. I don’t want to always be on the move. Then be so exhausted at the end of my vacation and say ‘I need a vacation from my vacation’. Any all my friends on this trip are travelers – they want to see and do everything. I respect that but I’m a sleepy gurl.
Onto the fun stuff!
I got to my hotel – the KOKO Hotel Ginza. It was cute. The room is perfect size for 1 or 2 people. I was worried because it had 3.7 stars and some bad reviews, but I liked it.

Then we ended the day by getting dinner at Ginza Kagari Main Branch. I ate the Oyster Ramen – 10/10! I loved it. I sat next to a cute guy, but I felt so self-conscious because I’m not good at using chopsticks. Alas, I said nothing… I could get all the food in my mouth, but I saw how other people held them – and I knew I wasn’t doing it right.

Day 2
Started off my day with two of my friends at Starbucks. Then I followed my friend’s agenda until my feet hurt lol. I walked 17,500 steps. That’s wild for me.

Some of my highlights:

The night ended with me getting dinner with my friends at Nadaman at Shangri-La Tokyo after failing to take a nap. What a ride!
