Long train rides

I love Amtrak trains, and no one can change my mind. I’ve always had a general love for long train rides, though, since I despise driving. I think I’m the main character looking at the scenery before I get inspiration for the new phase of my life.

Buses are ghetto though I won’t lie about that.

Ok so is there a point of this post?

Chill… I was talking to one of my coworkers about our shared love for trains. She started talking about how Amtrak has like 35-hour journeys to Seattle. Or to San Diego. Or places where the views are immaculate. The views are not immaculate from Butt Fuck to Los Angeles. Nothingness for hours. But even something about that gets me introspective. Of course, the algorithm is doing what is always does and now I’m getting all these TikTok videos about trains.

And the long rides are also relatively cheap. I think the Seattle 35-hour ride was $350 or thereabout. Ok, as I just wrote that, I’m realizing that’s kind of experience… but think of the experiences, though. Of course, it is one way, so I’d have to get a flight back or take another long train.

I wonder if I can plan a whole experience around going on this ride.

I would love a solo long train ride to Seattle or San Diego. Or even the mega-long ones to New Orleans. Maybe I’ll do that as part of my long 2024 summer.

Even more inspiration to quit in March.
