I saved $1800 on MBA Applications

In the spirit of finishing most of my applications, I just realized I saved about $200-$250 on MBA applications. How did I do this, you ask? If you didn’t ask, why are you reading this blog? BYE!

I saved $1800 by using the Consortium common application. I only ended up paying $325 for 7 schools. If I had applied directly through the school’s website, it would have cost over $2500. Crazy! That’s just to apply to the program, not even going towards tuition. Not me! Not in this economy.

To apply through the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, you need to show a demonstration towards the consortium’s mission. The mission is ‘to increase the ranks of African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans in business education and corporate leadership’

The neat thing is that you don’t have to identify with any of these communities to apply through the consortium. You can use the common application if you demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity. You do need to be a U.S. citizen or legal resident to use this application, so apologies to my international babies.

Using the common app, you automatically apply for a full tuition Consortium fellowship to a business school. So not only are your application costs significantly reduced, but you could also get your school paid for.

If you know someone looking to apply to business school, hit me up. I have so many more tips.
