I spent $13,000 plus 304,800 miles on travel in 2024. I saved about $3,048 by using miles (which I earned since 2022 from travel hacking) to cover some of the flights I booked throughout the year. My two words to summarize this year for me were change and unseriousness.
Hey Siri, play “Night Changes” by One Direction.
I visited 4 countries: Nigeria, Canada, Mexico and South Korea. I went to 6 different states: Georgia, Connecticut, DC, New York, New Jersey, Nevada. Of course, I did move to New Jersey and started going to school in NYC. I have also gone back to California twice since I moved. I’m going back again in January. That’s where the homies are at.
Some of my top travel highlights were going to my Grandma’s 90th birthday in Nigeria, watching my best friend have a baby, seeing Adele live in Vegas, everything about my South Korea trip and rotting on the couch with my besties in Canada.
This year has been one of my best in recent memory. I really, really lived. And, I loved it. Hoping for more memories to be made next year. RIP my wallet 😦
Some trips I’m looking forward to next year are Dominican Republic spring break, Sundance Film Festival in Utah, Cannes Film Festival in France and Black Ski weekend in Colorado. This is only for the front half of 2025 so I’m just gonna have to re-evaluate my finances once summer roles around.
Well, I guess that’s all for me from 2024, see you next year.
XOXO Gen Z Fire Baby
