Gen Z Guide to FI

Trip 1 was to North Carolina for MLT MBA conference. MLT is one of the pre-MBA programs that I’m participating in this year. This trip cost a total of $349.83. Flight was basically FREE baby (well $11.20). Lodging was paid for and the $349.83 was spent on food, lyfts and vibes 🙂

It was a beautiful experience. We had the conference at Duke University in Durham, NC. I was in a room with 350-ish of the most beautiful Black and Latinx people that I have ever seen; plus, they were all as ambitious & accomplished (career wise) as me. Side note: I’ve really gotten into using colons & semicolons again because of all my studying for the GMAT lol.

Alternate side note: speaking of the GMAT, I wrote Test Anxiety a few weeks back about how I was so stressed about the exam and it almost broke me. Well guess what, even after having the crustiest sleep of my life, I got a 690 which means it is a good enough score for any of the schools I am looking at. Of course, the Nigerian in me (& my parents lol) wants to take this exam again so I can get to 700 (an undeniably amazing score).

Ok back to the conference, I met a lot of people that weekend. We talked about our dreams and what we wanted to use our future MBAs for. It was amazing. Since I was 11, I have been saying that I want to be a star and I have believed it too. But for the first time ever, I am actually facing the path that will get me there. Honestly, I can’t help but be fucking excited. The road to glory is just beginning.

So what’s next? Well, a lot of fucking homework and soul searching now. I have to figure out my why. Why do I think an MBA will help me break into the film industry? Why do I think I’m good enough to get into a top business school? Why am I that bitch basically?

And if you’ve been following this blog since the start, then you are a homie and I love you. That means you already know that I got the sauce and I am that bitch. Now I just need to find the words to explain why for essays and such.
